Lightworld Team Lead Nominated for Literacy Development Award

In an event that featured Young Nigerian Changemakers across the six Geo Political Zones in Nigeria; the Award and Exhibition ceremony organised by Youngstars Foundation and The Federal Ministry of Youth Development in conjunction with Skype, United Kingdom held at the New Chelsea Hotel, Central Business District Abuja on Friday, December 2, 2011 featured different Project Exhibitions from 30 shortlisted Youth Leaders making impact across the nation.

The coordinator of the Top12 Award and CEO Youngstars Foundation, Abuja, Mr Kingsley Bangwell said the award will only be given to 8 categories that fulfilled the conditions and which they got the proofs deserve the award. He explained that they sent in different and independent verification teams to every nomination across the nation to ascertain and score the impact of various projects. The winning categories and winners include; Democracy and God Governance Award, Adeola Austin Oyinlade for Know Your Constitution Initiatives; Adolescent and Health Care prize was given to Ndueso Young Akpan from Akwa Ibom State for her Castity Campaigns, Community Development Award was given to Erisa Danladi from Gombe State for A Breathe of Fresh Air; Leadership and Value Re-oriented Category was given to Nkiruka Stella Nnaemego for Volunteer for Life; Sustainable Environment Award was given to Femi Oye from Lagos State fro Solar Powered FIFA World Cup; Youth and ICT Development Award was given to Aliyu Abubakar Chika from Sokoto State for Mobile Phone Contact Backup/Restore; Entrepreneurial Development Award was given to Orumor Kelvin from Delta State  for his Free Skill Acquisition for Niger Delta Militants and Literacy Development Award was given to Abdullahi Mohammed Yakubu from Kano State for establishing a Community Learning Centre.

Lightworld Network Team Lead, Olaobaju Oluwaseyi was nominated for Literacy Development Category; and in a close tie category, Abdullahi Mohammad Yakubu won for his Hailan Memorial Academy in Farawa Community, Sokoto State.

Lightworld Network participated actively in the Exhibition; sharing Reading School, Newsletters, Slides and Impact Notes at the stand. The event lends some credence to the effort of Lightworld in promoting Reading Culture among Nigerian Youths.
