Brief History

After a keenly contested National Essay Competition by Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPMN) Alausa, Ikeja Lagos on the Roles of Youth in National Economic Rebirth in 2008. The winners, led by Olaobaju Oluwaseyi proposed to other winners from Ladoke Akintola University and University of Ibadan about putting to life the proposals put forth in the essay competition that made them to be adjudged winners nationwide.  The synergy of those essays came to the realization that Human Capital Development is the major solution to gaining National Economic Rebirth and that inspiration gave birth to Human Capital Network with branches in Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Ibadan.

It was a youth club with periodic meetings on human capital development and youth development towards National Rebirth.

After series of meetings with members of the organisation, we also proceeded to helping six secondary schools in Osun State by facilitating programs and encouraging them to develop themselves as a sure way out of our present predicaments. Then, we were all undergraduates. We kept affecting the lives of youth positively in every possible and imaginable ways including partnerships with other youth based organisations.

In 2011, Olaobaju Oluwaseyi again decided to take HCN to a higher level by consolidating the works and reaching to greater number of youths by restructuring Human Capital Network, hence the new name LIGHTWORLD which is meant to develop and deploy a new generation of youths with adequate intellectual prowess to confront the challenges of the day. People with an Institutional Culture, Mindset, Workset and World view!

It was formally presented in Ibadan, the state Capital of Oyo state with 56 people in attendance on March 5, 2011. All attendees knew Lightworld is set to light a candle in every dark corner.
